In December, my cousin and her husband went to Key West with their immediate families and had a lovely beach wedding. Last weekend, the entire family joined them to celebrate the nuptials at an elegant late Friday evening reception. It was my first Friday night reception and I have to say that I really enjoyed it. My family made a little overnight vacay out of it, staying at a local hotel they had booked for guests, and rode a shuttle to and from the reception venue.
Friday and Sunday weddings are becoming a popular option. Many venues will offer special discounts on these days as opposed to the ever popular Saturday night. With a discount on location, this helps budget conscious brides save money and afford extras they may not have normally been able to afford.
Sharing resources like decor, bridal accessories, and planning supplies among brides is becoming a popular option to keep costs down as well. Items that are in good condition can easily be reused between brides saving big time bucks.
In addition, brides are opting, too, to utilize their husband-to-be to help with the wedding planning before their mothers or best friends. By getting loved ones involved with the wedding details, this eliminates the need to hire a professional wedding planner saving money.
